Jenny Gray started teaching in 2003 and joined Pearson Online Academy in 2020. Ms. Gray teaches language arts, math, science, and social studies to students in fifth grade.
Why I Became a Teacher
I became a teacher because I love working with kids. I enjoy making learning fun and helping students achieve their goals. Every year I learn new things, and my wish is that all my students will continue to be lifelong learners.
The most rewarding part of teaching at Pearson Online Academy is watching my students succeed both inside and outside of the classroom. I love that I can work with students from all over the world and build a connection with them. I enjoy learning from my students just as much as I love teaching!
My favorite classroom activity is incorporating games. Students enjoy a variety of games such as Jeopardy!, Hidden Pictures, Kahoot!, Quizizz, and Blooket. I love that students have fun while learning!
The Online School Experience at Pearson Online Academy
At Pearson Online Academy, we make it a priority to create a welcoming and comfortable learning environment for our students. I take time to get to know my students and encourage them to share about themselves in our classroom. Once students get to know each other, I find they’re more likely to participate.
I like to incorporate music, games, and discussions to keep my students engaged. It’s fun to take virtual field trips, such as visiting Ellis Island to learn about immigration. I like to share my own experiences with my students, and I encourage them to share their experiences so that we can all learn from each other.
Our students complete a rigorous curriculum, manage their time efficiently, use the latest technology, and learn to work with others. All these skills will help them have a bright and successful future.

My Personal Interests
I love spending time with my husband and two daughters, ages 11 and 8. We live in Colorado, and I enjoy the outdoors. My favorite things to do are ski, run, hike, cook, and read.
