Weekly Counseling Programs
In partnership with Connections Academy schools, Pearson Online Academy offers weekly National Counseling LiveLesson® programs that enable students and families to learn more about academic, social development, and career topics.
During these real-time students can ask guest speakers questions about their career choices and experiences. It’s just another way Pearson Online Academy opens a world of possibilities to its students.
With master’s degrees and specialized training in developmental and educational psychology, our virtual school counselors help students address the personal, social, and academic issues that can affect their success in school and in life.
At Pearson Online Academy, our virtual school counseling program is built on relationships, so our counselors are readily accessible to students and families—online, and by phone. With the additional support from our national office and its collaborative network of school counselors across the United States, our counselors bring both individual attention and national expertise to our students and families.

Meet Elizabeth Linville
Counselor
Elizabeth Linville is a counselor at Pearson Online Academy. She has been teaching since 2012 and joined Pearson Online Academy in 2019. Ms. Linville shares her counseling journey below:

“Every part of my life has led me to be a school counselor. School counseling is my calling. I have always wanted to help students reach their potential. My past experiences, good and bad, have enabled me to empathize with students and families, as well as to assist with educational and career opportunities for students.
“I love seeing the positive shift that students make to become successful. As a school counselor, satisfaction is not always immediate, but over time, students grow and become independent, successful students and adults, which is extremely rewarding to witness.
“From an employee standpoint, working with an online school allows me to work regardless of where my family is located. As a military family, we move often and many times unexpectedly. It is a blessing to be able to continue doing what I love and be a working wife and mother.
“A good school community enables students to be successful, which is priceless to students, teachers, administrators, and support personnel. The school community should cultivate learning and growth. We are here for you and your child wholeheartedly. Your child’s education is our number one priority. Together, we see your child’s future dreams come to fruition.”
