Online Private High School Curriculum
Online education is a natural fit for today’s teens. High school students have grown up with the Internet, and they use technology to connect with each other and their interests every day. Pearson Online Academy’s 9–12 education features a college preparatory private school curriculum that is fine-tuned to launch each student into a successful future.

Online High School Courses
Core and Elective Courses
Our inclusive set of core high school courses covers subjects in math, science, English, and social studies. We also offer many elective courses in areas such as foreign languages, digital technology, journalism, and art history.
Honors and Advanced Placement® (AP®)* Courses
Our honors/AP courses are particularly beneficial for college-bound students or any ambitious student who wishes to demonstrate mastery in a specific subject area.
NCAA-Approved Courses for Student Athletes
For college-bound student athletes preparing to enroll in a Division I or Division II school, Pearson Online Academy offers many NCAA-approved core high school courses. Students should work closely with a school counselor, referencing the NCAA-approved courses listed below and considering graduation requirements when planning their schedules.
Students seeking NCAA eligibility must complete coursework consistently and discuss course progress with teachers at a minimum of four checkpoints throughout the course. In addition to taking approved courses, student athletes will need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to ensure they have met amateurism standards and are academically prepared for college coursework.
Note that not all courses may be available, and there may be slight variations between your state’s course naming convention and the name of the course listed on the NCAA Eligibility Center High School Portal.
Support and Guidance
Virtual private high school students work collaboratively with their counselors and Learning Coaches to develop a personal learning plan for academic progress and postsecondary planning. In grades 9–12, online students start to really take charge of their education and student responsibility by setting goals, working independently, and exploring their future career and college options.
