Why I Became a Teacher

In short, I became a teacher to share my love of mathematics. Even though teaching is not my first career, it certainly is my favorite.

I spent more than 15 years in “corporate America” designing and selling small kitchen appliances like blenders, can openers, coffeemakers, and irons. I’ve been teaching math online for more than 10 years.

I love playing Escape Room math games and Kahoot! with students because it encourages them to use their math skills to reach a goal.

I find working with students on a one-on-one basis to be the most rewarding part of my job.

My Personal Interests

I live in Upstate New York with my husband of 25 years and our two 12-year-old dogs. In my spare time, I like to do different kinds of needlework, like counted cross-stitch. I also like to knit and crochet hats and scarves and love going to see live productions of musicals.
